Beginner Ground Course - 2hrs: $139.00
Absolutely essential for anyone thinking about
getting into the sport. All students start
with a small foil training kite until they
learn the mechanics of the steering, and have
a good understanding of the “Wind Window”.
Kiteboarding is most quickly mastered by breaking
down the learning process. Learning to fly
the kite properly and safely before entering
the water will dramatically improve your learning
curve. This on land class covers rigging,
tuning, line management, kite safety, and
flying techniques. By completing this 2 hour
course, the student will be able to safely
launch, land and operate a Kiteboarding kite
on land. " knowwing the kite like the back
of your hand, will make getting on a board
a breeze! "
Inflatable Kites - 3hrs:
$300.00
Goals: Safe operation of an inflatable
kite, body dragging with the kite and self
rescue.
You will learn:
- Introduction to inflatable kites
- Rigging and setup of the kite
- How an inflatable kite works
- Safety systems and how the leash works
- Review of the wind window
- Launching and landing the kite
- Flying the kite in shallow water
- Relaunching the kite in deep water
- Self rescue, how to get back
- Body dragging with the kite
- Body dragging upwind
- Kite and body position
- Control of sailing direction
- Self landing and self rescue
Introduction to Riding: - 3hrs: $300.00
Goals: To get up on a board.
You will learn:
- Review of Level 2
- Introduction of the board

| Two Day Fast Track Program
|
6 hrs - $600.00
This class was designed for the working man
and woman. Any two days in a row for 3 hours
a day, and you’ll be an accomplished beginner
kite boarder. This is Level 2 and Level 3
combined with extra flight time and extended
instruction. The main benefit of this class
is striking the iron while it’s still hot.
Flight time and muscle memorization are the
2 key items for all beginners.
Notes:
Windsure provides Kites, boards, wetsuit,
harness, helmets and lifejackets. Booties
are highly recommended, they are available
for purchase if required.
On completion of lesson one, we recommend
our students purchase a three meter trainer
kite in order to increase their kite skills.
The more time spent flying the trainer kite,
the better future lesson will be.
